Cyber_One on YouTube has a series of videos, this is part 1 it goes to part 7. Hopefully he does not mind me using his video here. Somebody tell him he is doing a good job or something.

So far the strongest of the servos I can find are 125kg so I bought a book titled “507 Mechanical Movements” hoping that I can find a movement that will magnify the force enough to use in the hips, knees and ankles.



I have not been working on this stuff like I should have been.

Okay so I have Daz3d, all the files for InMoov, a 3d printer, micro controllers, all the servos for the eyes, face, head and neck, cameras for the eyes, and a little platinum cure silicone for skin. It seems like all I have to do is get to work but my get up and go, got up and went.

Okay so I bought a few sculpture books to learn that, and realized I can just take some photos of faces and load them into a face room like poser has then turn it into a 3d format and use a 3d printer to print molds for the skin. Then it is just a matter of drilling holes in the right places for the cables that attach to the servos for facial expressions like Hanson does. Not quite as easy as it sounds but I think it will work.

I did a little research and found that servos will make the best hands. If anyone knows where I can find servo motors or something functionally the same only larger please post a comment or send an email to chuck@chuck4yourinfo.com . Pnumatics seem like alot of trouble to use for the elbows, shoulders, hips, back, thighs , knees, and ankles. There is something like that somewhere I just have to find it.

I found a small 1/5 hp air compressor with 1 gallon tank that would fit in the chest of an android to power the larger body parts.It weighs 16 lbs and could be run by a battery placed in stomach of the android. The air flow would come from the mouth and the compressor noise could be silenced with bafles. I know my first android will not be perfect because of my limited rescources but it will be interesting to see just how good I can do with what I have to work with.

It looks like almost everything is going to be moved by cables pulled from a few central locations.
I think the larger joints will have to be moved by hydrolics.
