I have not tried it yet but I don’t think the Raspberry Pi has enough power to do what I want so in comes the Intel Next Unit of Computing. These have been around for a while but cost more than the Raspberry Pi does at $35 compared to about $250 to $650 for the Intel Next Unit of Computing. But if I am going to do this I think I should do it right besides this way I can use the latest Intel Core processors.

Raspberry Pi
Android parts Posted on Fri, April 05, 2013 12:06I still do not know if the Raspberry Pi will do what I want because I can’t afford a monitor. After looking through the user’s guide I am pretty sure it will though.

Raspberry Pi
Android parts Posted on Sun, March 10, 2013 15:56 I ran a search for a credit card sized computer and found the “Raspberry Pi” . I do not know if it is powerful enough to do what I want yet but it’s a start. It is a full function desktop computer with 2 USB 2.0 , eathernet, hdmi , micro USB for power, boots from SD card, runs “Raspbian” which is a port of Debian Linux runs almost all of the Debian packages. Well enough of that ,you can look it up for yourself. It might be able to run a chat bot and there are digital interfaces available for it to run servos and things.

EMOTIV
Android parts Posted on Wed, August 15, 2012 11:17 Emotiv makes a nuroheadset that I might be able to use to control my android it’s called Epoc. I might try to get one pretty soon. What made me look for it was I got an email from Amazon.com about Arduino books. One of them was about making a mind controlled robot with the Arduino micro controler which if you have been reading my blog you will know I purchased a few months ago. It can be used to control a pc so I can test it on that.

Tools
Android parts Posted on Sat, July 21, 2012 18:42 I used some of my grosscery money to buy a $10 microtorch, $5 hot glue gun, and $25 drill/driver with accsesory kit and case. The microtorch came with a hot air blower attachment so I can use heat shrink tubing. The glue gun is just a Ace “heavy duty” mini hot glue gun. The drill/driver is a light to medium duty driver that comes with 5 drill bits with 27 inch pounds of tork I think at 200 rpm. It is not a $200 Dewalt I got second hand or anything like that, though it was on sale for 50% off. It’s a Denali, comes with 20 piece accsesory kit, wallmount charger/stand and zippered nylon case. It got mixed reviews, it has not been deliverd yet so I don’t know if it works or not.

Bones
Android parts Posted on Thu, April 19, 2012 07:42I think I have pretty much decided to use stainless steel for the entire skeleton except for the skull which I might try making out of a solid block of aluminum.

Bones
Android parts Posted on Tue, April 17, 2012 09:42 I have nearly completed the work on a vertabra that should allow the spine to move in all directions as well as rotate some, in Turbo CAD. I will be able to attach the rest of the skeleton directly to it but making all this walk and move correcly is going to be alot of work.
I think maybe I should use fiberglass for the spine and ribs because it would probably work better and flex like a spine and ribs would not to mention light. The vertabra idea is too difficult.
